Did you know that amateur radio was the original social media? Ham radio is still a popular non-commercial wireless communications. Ham radio operators are defacto ambassadors, experimenters, innovators and public servants. They not only further the art of wireless communications, but protect our airways as a vital natural resource, help in emergency planning and operations---and have fun too. Going on the air allows you to talk to spacecraft, airplanes, the South Pole (if you wish), and make new friends. To do so requires a license that is free, but requires taking a multiple choice exam. This group will assist and mentor new ham operators, help to administer those exams, and also participate in community service programs. It's a great hobby for all ages, including kids. You are invited to bring your children and join our group. No charge to join. Meetings will be held the 2nd Saturday of every month, from 10:30 AM to Noon.
