Kingston Express Association
09/01/2007
by Daniel Brown
The Kingston Express Association is pleased to join the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce. We are made up primarily of people who used to commute to downtown Seattle on the Aqua Express. We formed almost immediately after the suspension of the foot ferry service as a non-profit organization. Our goal was to help reinstate some form of direct foot ferry service between Kingston and downtown Seattle. Our primary reason for joining you is that we recognize the value of being a part of, as well as, interfacing with the local business community.
Our existence is actually a small leg of this epic journey of proportions akin to finding the Northwest passage. Our plans are relatively small scale and simple. Over the last couple of years we've analyzed and discussed all the issues brought before us by our supporters and our detractors and our biggest barriers are not what you might think. Our basic plan, which has a few variations, hasn't changed that much over time. We have filled in and continue to fill in more of the lesser details.
If you are interested in finding out more details, if you would like to add your perspective or even if you would like to find out how you can contribute to our efforts, please feel free to contact me or Nels Sultan, our manager. We are here, asl always, to listen and work with you to get a foot ferry going from Kingston to Seattle.
Thank you,
Daniel Brown
