Sharenet Appreciates Community Giving
11/30/2007
by Barbara Brumagin
Christmas is fast approaching. The holiday season invokes many emotions - from joy and anticipation to disappointment and anxiety. Advertisements promote Christmas with scenes of an abundance of food, gifts, and festive family gatherings. That is not the scene, however, for families that struggle to meet day-to-day needs.
At ShareNet, the Christmas season is a chance to offer hope, encouragement, provisions for a holiday meal, and gifts to celebrate the holiday. Will you be a part of this opportunity to reach out to disadvantaged families?
Drop-off Deadline: Friday, December 14. Food and gift donations must be received so they can be organized or boxed.
Drop-off Locations: Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00am to 4:00pm at ShareNet, 26061 United Road (behind Joe’s Automotive) off Bond Road. Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm at Bayside Community Church, 25992 Barber Cut-Off Road in Kingston.
Food Items: Everything needed to prepare a Christmas meal.
Gift Items: Toddlers through sixth grade: warm clothing, gloves, sweatshirts, games, toys puzzles. Teens: games, gift cards, sweatshirts (larger sizes), McDonald’s gift certificates, scarves, or personal items. Family gifts: gift cards or any home needs for men or women. Please do not wrap gifts.
If you have any questions, please call ShareNet at 360.297.2266.
