Kingston Art Gallery Gala Re-Opening
10/02/2007
by Marilyn Bode
Cleo's Landing, like Kingston itself is growing, and we at the Kingston Art Gallery are growing with it. In September the Gallery got a facelift. Have you noticed the garage doors are gone and we have a real storefront and new entry? By next summer there will be an additional 600 square feet of building, a roof garden, and a place for a classroom. Instead of this additional space going to another business, the Kingston Art Gallery would love to grow into that space. A sculpture garden and infinity pad will enhance our corner on Highway 104 and West Kingston Road.
Artist Gerald Dowell collaborated with Susan Rogers, owner, on the design work. Terry and Karyn Cott, Chair and Vice Chair of the Gallery Board of Directors worked with Susan representing the Gallery and Harv Kolln assisted in landscaping. Gallery artists not only have been busy painting pictures but painting walls and reinstalling the display units and art pieces.
On October 13, 5 - 8pm, you are invited to join us at our Gallery Gala Re-opening. (This is our usual Second Saturday Gallery Night time.) Check out our new look and the fine art of our cooperative's 18 artists. Our October show will be inspired by poems exalting the Autumn season. Music at the Gala will be by the Eclectics.
In your business do you give appreciation gifts to clients? Kingston business owners who do find that a gift certificate for the Kingston Art Gallery is a wonderful way to promote North Kitsap artists and encourage the ''shop local" idea. Our hours are Thursday through Monday, 10am - 6pm.Our phone is 297-2213 and our web site is www.kingstonartgallery.com
